Recieved my Shotmiser yesterday and first impressions are very good.  Set up instructions were pretty clear and managed to get it up and running within 15 mins - just enough time to read the instructions!!

Loaded up the demo course and worked though the various features last night to ensure I am ready to take it to the course.  My home course (West Linton GC, Peeblesshire, Scotland) is currently not available but someone is already working on it and should be loaded up in the next day or so just in time for my round on Saturday - weather permitting!!  I'll report back how I get on with it first time out.

Just a quick note re customer service.  I noticed that there has already been a positive review re this subject and I would have to say that the service I have recieved so far has been excellent.  Mike Pearson has answered all my questions (and there was alot of them!) in the run up to the purchase and it is clear they have a desire to make this devise the very best they can and provide support to their customer base.  As I have said already, first impressions are good and can't wait to get it out and give it a run.

I've experienced the same level of service. Got to hand it to em, they're 10/10 for that. I think the device is pretty awesome to. Have you seen the Demo with the new look?

Looking forward to using it. Grin

Yeah, the new demo version looks slighty sharper an will be good to get my hands on it.  Having spoken to Mike at Shotmiser previously, there are a few new options in the pipeline so this may well just be the start of great things to come.

Well I've had my shotmiser for two months now and thought it was time I shared my thoughts as promised.

Firstly my home course wasn't mapped and was waiting to see if it would be ready as promised.  First test  passed with flying colours.  The course was mapped out as promised and as it would happen it was tested no less by one of the Shotmiser team to make sure it was working correctly.  Not bad given that I play in Scotland and the guys are based in Yorkshire.

I've had the Shotmiser out on about 15 rounds so far and can say that I haven't had any problems at all - apart from the first, however that doesn't count as it was the user being stupid!!  The display is very clear and yardages are spot on.

However the best thing I have found over the Skycaddie I had previously is that it gives me a bit more flexibility when I need to layup to a specific distance, especially when my drive gets a wee bit out of shape!!  I have definately put it though its paces in recent months as I have driven onto ajoining fairways and needed to plot my way back to the hole.  The top down view provided by Shotmiser helped a lot to get back on track and there is nothing better than parring a hole after a poor drive - just ask the guys I play with as they are delighted for me I'm sure.

The only thing I miss from my previous Skycaddie is the auto display of all distances to the green - front, middle and rear - maybe something for a future development?  I know I can get these by touching the screen, however if they were auto displayed I would need to touch it.

So first impression were good, second impressions even better.  However while it is all very well having a great product, companies need to back it up with good customer service.  As others have already stated, I would be surprised if another company could match the Shotmiser service.  Without doubt Shotmiser has been great from day one and with these new updates it can only get even better.

Had my Shotmiser for nearly 6 months now and as I mentioned in my previous review (March 19th 2009) the only thing I really missed from my old skycaddie was the auto display of yardages to the front, middle and back of the green.  Therefore delighted to learn that this new functionality will now be available later this month.

My wife said recently that I have a unique 'talent' of being able to find fault with almost everything I buy because I think there is always room for improvement.  However the new version of Shotmiser will now have it all.

Well done the guys at Shotmiser. Grin
